You love your perfume, but it fades too quickly? Longevity depends on the perfume itself, but also on how you wear and store it. Here are our simple tips to enjoy it all day long.
1. Perfume moisturised skin
Perfume lasts longer on nourished skin: dry skin “drinks” it faster. Apply it ideally after a shower, on clean skin, possibly over an unscented moisturiser that will act as a base.
2. Aim for pulse points
The neck, behind the ears, the inside of the wrists and the crook of the elbows give off body heat, which brings the perfume to life. Spray from about fifteen centimetres, without overdoing it.
3. Don’t rub
Rubbing your wrists together heats the skin and breaks the top notes, the most delicate ones. Simply let the perfume dry in the open air.
4. Think of your hair
Hair holds scents very well and releases the perfume with every movement. But the alcohol in a classic perfume can dry it out: that is why there are perfumes made especially for hair. Dorin Hair Perfumes are enriched with vitamin E, cornflower water, vitamins B8 and B3 and provitamin B5, for a delicate, long-lasting scent that also brings volume, nourishment and shine.
They come in the house’s great signatures: Un Air de Paris, Versailles 1780, Bureau du Roi, Les Jardins du Château and Dorina. Worn with the matching perfume, they extend its trail all day long.

5. Choose the right concentration
The more concentrated a perfume, the longer it lasts: an eau de parfum generally lasts longer than an eau de toilette. Woody, amber or musky base notes are also the most persistent.
6. Store your bottle well
Light, heat and temperature changes damage perfume. Keep your bottle in its box, away from sunlight, and avoid the bathroom. Well stored, it keeps all its richness for years.
7. Carry a travel size
For a touch-up during the day or when travelling, our 8 ml sizes slip into any bag: Versailles 1780 8 ml, Dorina 8 ml or Bureau du Roi 8 ml.
